happy EGGster day!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays because I love dyeing eggs, then making egg salad sandwiches after. This year 10 of us combined forces to color 2 dozen eggs- there were glitter, tie-dye, SF, Hello Kitty, & even a Paul Wall egg! And most importantly, now I have some good home lunch for the rest of the week :)

Cherry Blossom festival FOOD!

I look forward to the Cherry Blossom festival in San Francisco every year! It is 2 weekends in a row, both Saturday & Sunday. There are amazing vendors that sell tshirts, jewelry, sushi-makers, & more. It's usually sunny since it's always during April, spring time. Entertainment is on-going with singers, dancers, & even taiko drummers. There is even a beer & sake tent. And on the 2nd weekend, there's a big parade showcasing the cherry blossom court. But, the BEST part about this festival is the FOOD!!

Last weekend I ate SO much! From grilled pork vietnamese sandwich, nachos, fried mochi, takoyaki, saimin salad, pork riblets, lumpia, butter mochi, kalua pig plate, to uni/ikura handroll, natto roll, & an izakaya dinner (from restaurants near by). And there is still so much more I'd like to try, like the teri burger!

cheeeesy Festivals!

Cheese is one of my favorite types of foods & when there is any opportunity for a cheese tasting, I'm there! In the past couple years, I've been to two festivals geared solely to cheese lovers.

Seattle Cheese Festival - located in the heart of Pike's Market, nearly 30 cheese companies participate in this FREE event. Tastings are also free, along with discounted pricing for HUGE cuts of cheeses. There is a wine tent for a nominal fee per sample. I highly recommend this event!

California Artisan Cheese Festival - in the Petaluma Sheraton's parking lot, many many cheese, wine, olive, & even breadstick vendors come together to show off & share their flavors. It's a good one-time experience for $45.
